Opened in 1985 by Tina Tiedtke, the Tiedtke family’s legacy in the arts helped create a unique venue where film is art—from foreign and indie movies to cultural events and first-run features.

A Rich and Creative History

Enzian began by screening classic films and hosting live performances—composer Philip Glass was one early guest. By 1989, it shifted to first-run indie films and later became home to the Florida Film Festival, an Oscar-qualifying event that showcases over 160 films each year.

Today, it screens nearly 500 films annually and welcomes more than 70,000 visitors.
