If you have skylights, you might see cracks from inside your home or damage to your home’s gutters. But seeing any damage to your roof from the ground can be difficult.
Asphalt shingles that have been hit by large hail may show some dark spots. These spots may appear to be shiny because granules of asphalt have been broken away. You may see granules laying on the ground around your home or in your gutters. If you have wooden shingles, there could be tiny splits in the wood. There will also be indentation marks on the roof from hail. You may not see them, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t there.
